The Christmas tree photo was taken at Wisma Atria, Orchard Road.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-451 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/miradorbcpl.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/12\/Tree-500x666.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"324\" height=\"431\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Some people may celebrate Christmas the most, while others celebrate the Chinese New Year. Japanese people place great emphasis on New Year\u2019s Day, 1<sup>st<\/sup> of January. On New Year\u2019s Eve, Japanese people will clean up their houses and set a pair of Kadomatsu at entrances to invite in Toshigami (\u5e74\u795e, also written as \u6b73\u795e). Toshigami is a god that visits every home every New Year\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-450 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/miradorbcpl.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/12\/Gate.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"318\" height=\"424\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On New Year\u2019s Day, people will go out and see Hatsu Hinode (\u521d\u65e5\u306e\u51fa), the first sun rise of the New Year. Watching the first sunrise is also a way to welcome Toshigami and the new year ahead.
